This ZHAW study, conducted for the Green Fintech Network, explores how Swiss Green Fintech startups finance their growth. Based on surveys and interviews with 23 companies, it highlights fragmented funding sources, reliance on self-financing and business angels, and limited access to debt capital. Smaller startups face liquidity constraints, while more mature firms report better access to funding.
The study identifies trust, credible teams, and investor understanding as key success factors and calls for improved early-stage support, clearer regulation, and stronger collaboration to advance Switzerland’s Green Fintech ecosystem.
